ABOUT

The Western Classic Junior Dairy Show was started after the historic Great Western Livestock Show was cancelled in 2012 due to lack of funding from the State of California.  Not wanting to see this event go away, members of the South San Joaquin Holstein Association came together to create this event which is now the largest junior dairy cattle show in California.

In 2022, the show celebrated its 10th Anniversary and was moved to International Agri-Center in Tulare, CA as it had outgrown the Kings County Fairgrounds. Last year, the show attracted over 320 head of registered and grade dairy cattle exhibited by over 200 junior exhibitors ages 5-21 from all parts of the Central Valley, as far south as Escondido and as far north as Petaluma.

This event is run mainly by volunteers and supported by generous businesses and individuals. Please visit the sponsorship tab if you are interested is supporting this event.
